Supreme

Merce roll-out at Supreme.

Star cast: Srinivas as lead engineer. Technical backing by Jignesh. Kishan providing PM front-end. Shraddha handling client relationship. Me as back-end PM. Deepak Mittal as Obstacle Course Designer. Amit Kavrie as Confused Customer.

Status

  1. Srinivas was putting in about half a day every day into Support. Kishan has identified this and Srinivas has been asked to focus entirely on Supreme.
  2. Srinivas has completed setting up of Pune server, other than user creation and installation of Foxpro apps.
  3. Srinivas has installed OS and Merce on firewall. Remaining tasks will have to be done on firewall by Kishan.
  4. Srinivas is setting up Merce master for Bombay, for which he has received user list from Deepak Mittal. He and Jignesh had some questions about the list, which need to be checked with Deepak M. I have asked them to discuss these with Kishan, and Kishan can then discuss with Deepak M.
  5. IP address change has apparently been done by Deepak M.
  6. Next week (22 to 27 Sep) Srinivas will go to Vapi and complete the PoC for the Foxpro apps and the printing from the terminal server to printers.
  7. Same week, Srinivas will go to Pune and set up the Pune server.
  8. Same week, towards the end, Kishan will go to Vapi and set up the firewall.
  9. Next week (29 Sep to 4 Oct) we should be ready to begin mail migration at Bombay (i.e. we will begin running fetchmail on the Merce server at Bombay and pull all mails from Reliance to the local IMAP accounts, and users will connect to this server from outside and pull out their mails over Webmail and POP3).
  10. We will need Win2k3 Std or Win2k8 Std, but 32-bit, for all locations. Foxpro apps do not run on 64-bit OS.

Status

  1. Srinivas is setting up Pune server, which will work almost as a standalone Mtracks setup, with the aim of temporarily letting people use TC environment without full Merce deployment and WAN connectivity.
  2. Srinivas to go to Vapi and roll out Foxpro apps in the PoC setup there, with new larger window size and printing from Foxpro apps.
  3. Kishan to follow up with Deepak M about IP address change at all sites.
  4. Kishan to ask Deepak M for product key, media, CALs and TSCALs for Win2k8 Standard, 64-bit. We are currently setting up Pune with an eval copy that Deepak A has downloaded (60-day eval).
  5. The printer server issue to be resolved. We have given Deepak M our go-ahead. He'll either try USB printers with Enjay thin clients, or shift to HP network-based laser printers.

The client will give us the following:

  1. Full list of existing email accounts being used by Supreme currently
  2. Win2k8 Std 64-bit media, product key, CALs, TSCALs.
  3. Change of IP address scheme
  4. take a call on the printer server/ printer issue.
